My educational career has centered on working with students in our county in a variety of grade levels that range from kindergarten, first, second, third and fifth. The last twelve years have been dedicated solely to third grade.

Through the years, I have focused my teaching on each individual child and his/her educational needs by implementing strategies to help the child achieve his/her highest potential. It is of the upmost importance to recognize the uniqueness of each individual child, identify his/her strengths in order to provide a challenge, while also nurturing any academic areas of concern. Today’s society offers a diverse population, as teachers, we must recognize multicultural differences in order to encourage the child to achieve his/her highest potential.

I am a native of Onslow County. My husband, Doug and I have been married for 36 wonderful years and together we have one son, named Ethan and a daughter-in-law, Nicole.  Ethan & Nicole have a Boston Terrier named Bentley. We often dog-sit for Bentley.

My passion is teaching! I strive daily to be the best that I can be and live life to the fullest. As for the students that I teach, I want to be an inspiration and provide them with effective, meaningful instruction, so that they may become independent lifelong learners. I set high expectations for all students and ask that my students give me their very best effort each and every day.

A large portion of my time is spent on school work because I feel that is my true calling. In my spare time, I love to read, work in my flower gardens, and spend time with my family, as well as devote time to my church.
